Privacy Policy

This policy explains what we collect when you use cozycabin.fun, why we collect it, and who else ends up seeing it. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.

Cozy Cabin is a family that rents two cabins in Hochatown, Oklahoma. We are not an advertising business, and we have nothing to gain from knowing more about you than we need to in order to host you well.

What we collect

When you book a stay, we ask for:

• your first and last name
• your email address
• your phone number, if you choose to give one
• the dates you want and how many adults, children, infants and dogs are coming
• anything you write in the notes box

When you use the contact form, we ask for your name, email address, phone number and message. That is all it sends.

Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs of requests to the site, which include IP addresses. We do not use analytics software, advertising pixels or tracking cookies of any kind. Nobody is building a profile of you here.

Why we collect it

To price your stay, to hold your dates, to take your booking, and to reach you about it. Your notes go to us so we know what would make your stay better. Nothing here is used for any other purpose.

If you tick the box asking for occasional Cozy Cabin news, we will use your email address for that too. If you do not tick it, we will not. You can ask us to stop at any time by replying to any message or writing to holly@cozycabin.fun, and there is an unsubscribe link on everything we send.

Who else sees it

Four companies handle some part of this on our behalf, and each of them has its own privacy policy that governs what it does with what it receives.

• OwnerRez runs our bookings. Your name, email, phone, dates, party size and notes are stored there, and it is where we manage your reservation.
• Stripe takes the payment on the OwnerRez checkout page. See the section below.
• Netlify hosts the site and receives contact form submissions.
• Sanity stores the words and photographs on the site, and serves the images. It holds nothing about you.

Our page fonts are served by Adobe Fonts, which means Adobe sees the IP address of anyone loading a page. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we never will. We will only hand it to anyone else if the law requires it.

Payment information

We never see your card. When you finish booking, you are handed to a secure checkout page run by OwnerRez, and the card details you enter there go to Stripe. They are never typed into this site, never pass through it and are never stored by us.

Cookies and what is stored in your browser

We set no cookies for advertising or analytics. The only thing this site stores in your browser is a short note of the cabin and dates you booked, kept so the page you land on afterwards can offer to add the stay to your calendar. It lives in the tab you booked in, never leaves your browser, and is gone the moment you close the tab.

The OwnerRez checkout page is theirs, not ours, and sets whatever it needs to work.

How long we keep it

Booking and guest records are kept in OwnerRez for as long as we need them to run the business and meet our tax and accounting obligations. Contact form messages are kept while we are still dealing with them, and cleared out afterwards. If you asked for our news, we keep your address until you ask us to stop.

Your choices

Write to us at holly@cozycabin.fun and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete it. If you have a stay booked or recently completed, we may need to keep the reservation record itself, but everything beyond that can go.

Children

This site is meant for adults booking a holiday. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13. Children coming on a stay are counted in the party size, and we ask for nothing about them beyond that number.

Changes to this policy

If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and move the date at the top of it. There is no version of this policy where we quietly start doing something else.
